MASkargo and its parent company MAS recently underwent a corporate social responsibility exercise when it lend a hand to the Johor flood victims.
Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer, Tengku Dato' Azmil Zahruddin, MASkargo Logistics General Manager, Zulkarnain Mohd Yudin and staff helped to load boxes of rice and essential items onto a MASkargo Logistics trucks and delivered them to Johor where the victims needed the supplies.
The 20-tonne truck containing contributions such as beverages, canned food, biscuits, bottled water and toiletries was delivered to the Johor National Welfare Department's Operations Centre on 23 December 2006 to help alleviate the burden of the flood victims.
MASkargo offered its freight and airfreight services to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society to speed up the delivery of essential items to the affected areas.
Malaysia Airlines and MASkargo have partnered with the Malaysian government and non-government organisations in relief and rebuilding efforts. The airline donated RM200,000 to the National Disaster Relief Fund in aid of the 2004 tsunami victims, and together with its cargo subsidiary, airlifted critical items to Islamabad after the earthquake in Pakistan, and sent teams to provide assistance to earthquake victims in Jogjakarta this year.
